What we do?

Local Immigration Partnerships (LIPs) represent an opportunity for communities to bring together diverse stakeholders to collaborate on and coordinate local strategies and plans for welcoming, settling and integrating immigrants and refugees.

They are not direct service providers, but rather coordinators of local initiatives that involve actors from the host community

and newcomers in partnership to build a community that is welcoming and inclusive.

Despite being Manitoba's third largest city and common destination for immigrants to the province, Steinbach host a LIP would be beneficial to both the City of Steinbach and the Eastman region. This is a group of stakeholders who are eager to contribute to a LIP and ensure that their community and region are welcoming, inclusive and places where newcomers families can thrive.

What is LIP?

Local Immigration Partnerships (LIPs) are multi-sectoral planning tables that bring a cross-section of stakeholders together to identify ways in which to support settlement and integration of immigrants into local communities.

LIP is a project funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
